ABOUT US

Naledi Pre-Primary School is an Early Childhood Development Center founded in 1967 and has been in operation for over four decades. The center is situated at 603 Mosoeu Street, Tsolo Section in Katlehong. Naledi is currently caring and providing early learning to 150 children from the community whom some are disadvantaged.

The school also comprises of 13 Staff members:

  • 2x Cooks
  • 1x Security
  • 1x Gardener
  • 1x Cleaner
  • 7x Practitioners
  • 1x Administrator

The school has 5 classes

  • Two Grade R classes (30 children each)
  • 4 years class (30 children)
  • 3 years class (30 children)
  • 2 years class (30 children)

The center also provides all children with breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.

The meals are prepared in the following order:

  • Breakfast – 07h00am to 08h00am
  • Morning Snack – 10h00am to 10h30am
  • Lunch – 12h00pm to 13h00pm
  • Afternoon Snack – 13h30pm( knock off time)

Programmes

The Grade R classes are divided in 2 languages, one class teaches in IsiZulu and the other in SeSotho and the program covers communication skills, problem solving skills, counting, socialization skills, health and hygiene which are (ADL) Activities of Daily Living.

Objectives

The organisation’s main objectives to:

  • To establish and maintain a creche for children from the age of two years and under the age of six.
  • To promote health, physical, social and religious development of all children admitted into its care.
  • To provide nutritious meals to the children attending the center.
  • To be affiliated to pre-school teachers associations.
  • To co-operate with other governmental departments, local authorities and welfare organisations carrying out the same objectives.

The organisation’s secondary objectives are:

  • To attain any other cognate aim object which can be attained without prejudice or detriment to the forgoing aim objectives.
  • To decrease the literacy rate and install a culture of learning.
  • To engage children in educational programmes and tours over holidays.
  • To engage children in gardening and environmental care for them to value nature.

The committee shall have the power to decide meritoriously on cases of non-working parents who continually become unemployed for a period exceeding sixty (60) days.

REGISTRATION

We provide ECD services

Registrations are still open and learners can be registered at the school. We currently have 25 spaces open.

Fees are as follows:

Registration fee – R150.00

1 year 8 months to 2 years – R350.00

3 and 4 year old – R300.00

Grade R(5-6 year old) – R200.00

All fees are payable into the school’s account and all proof of payments should be forwarded to the school. School fees are to be paid by the 7th of the month and are paid in advance (i.e. Payment made between the 25th and 31st March are for April.)
